Not Enough Storage Error Solution Android

How to fix “Not Enough Storage” error in Android We all know that the amount of storage space is not as high as it seems and that’s where the problem starts. For example, a device with 32 GB of storage will never have that much free space so that you can download the necessary apps and software. This is because a large part of the  residue stored by the operating system pre-installed apps also waste some space, depending on how the OS formats the storage media.

Not Enough Storage Error on Android Devices

This fact is known to many people and annoys them when they go through the installation process of a very important app but end up getting the ‘Insufficient storage space’ error message. Even though there is enough storage space available for the app to be updated or installed, even though there is not enough space left for it to be executed, even though the app is taking up much less space than if the installation or installation step had failed, what is actually happening here is that the app is actually available on your device.

What causes the error There is not enough storage space?

When you see this error on your Android device, it means that your device does not have enough storage space to install and execute the app. An error like this usually calls you to uninstall other apps to free up some space or delete data on your device so that you can create more space for the app you have installed. Let’s find out what causes this error and how we can fix it.

Why it gives the error there is not enough storage space

A space error normally occurs when you transfer a large app, video or picture from your phone’s internal memory to an external storage. This causes the cache to become corrupted. Therefore, it causes the cache to become saturated. Old and unnecessary cache data is stored in the trash on your phone. Usually, these cache files clear themselves, but when transferring large media files, cache data can be saved in some way.

Another reason is the lack of working storages which basically leads to this ‘Insufficient storage space’ issue. Any android app uses three sets of storage, one set for the app itself, second set for the app’s data files and finally the third set for the app’s cache. Now when this cache grows in size, it takes up a large portion of the space, even though the space occupied by the cache is reported to be free space on Android. Therefore, clearing this cache is a very useful step that can be followed to fix this problem of insufficient storage on your Android device.

How to fix “Not enough space”

Solution 1. Delete cache files

Clearing the cache is the first step to solve the problem of insufficient storage space. Follow the steps below to perform it successfully.

  1. First open the settings from the home screen and go to  Application manager .
  2. Swipe towards the downloaded section, which displays the footprint of all downloaded apps and space.
  3. Then tap the menu to arrange the apps in order, or tap more buttons to select ‘size by node’.
  4. Now tap on a specific app showing the storage space, data and cache stored by it.
  5. Tap the clear cache to empty the cache.
  6. Repeat the same process for each application.

On the other hand, you can also delete cache files for all apps by following the steps below:

  1. Go to your device’s settings menu
  2. Touch Storage
  3. Search for cached data and tap

You will get a pop-up asking you to confirm that you want to delete all cache data. Tap on OK and all data will be deleted.

Solution 2. Use a Third Party App

To fix the “Not enough space” error, all you need to do is download a 2MB app called CCleaner from Google Play Store. If you don’t have any accessible space for this 2MB app, uninstall the unused app or media file to free up enough space. Please delete a file from your Internal storage, not your Micro SD card. If there is no such app to delete, uninstall Google Play updates and free up 2MB of space on your internal memory to try this method. Then follow the steps below.

Go to Google Games

Download  App Cache Cleaner Install it and it will show you the individual apps where large cache data is stored. You can manually delete this cached data by clicking the Recycle Bin icon next to it or the ‘clear all’ button at the bottom and it will wipe the cache for all apps. Once this process is finished, you will no longer see the ‘Out of Space’ or ‘insufficient storage’ issue on your Android device.

Solution 3: Make a casting status opening

  • If you have deleted several apps and cleared the cache, but you still get this error, you need to get a dump status permission. Below are the steps to do this.
  • Enter your dialer
  • Dial *#9900#
  • This will access the SysDump menu
  • Now tap on Delete Dumpstate/logcat button and confirm by tapping OK.
  • Tap Exit at the bottom of the menu

Once this step is complete, you will notice that a considerable amount of space has been freed up on your device.

Solution 4. Move apps to your SD card

Android allows developers to make more than 10 MB of apps to be portable to the SD card. While this is a preferred option for developers, you may have certain apps in your app list that can be moved to the SD card. This will free up space on the phone’s internal memory where an app is usually installed.

  • Go to your device’s Settings menu
  • Tap Apps
  • Now sort the apps by size, which will bring the largest apps to the top. Now check the “Move to SD card” option next to the app. If it allows the app, you’ll see this button highlighted and for apps that don’t allow the move, the button will be grayed out.
  • You have the option to move the ones that will free up some space on your phone’s internal memory.

If your phone does not support SD cards, you cannot do this.

Solution 5. Use Cloud Storage

If you are an avid user of your smartphone and have downloaded a lot of stuff and installed a lot of apps, you should consider using cloud storage. It will help you store all your media files securely in the cloud and you will have more space for the apps you want to use. There are many options for cloud storage and I leave it up to you to choose the one you are most comfortable with.

Your Android device can free up a lot of space by following these steps. It will help you fix the problem areas of your device so you can continue to enjoy your Android and all the apps you want to use on it.
