How to Clear Cache on Android Device? The Google Android operating system for mobile devices offers millions of various apps developed by Google and millions more developed by third-party developers. When you install one of these apps, they create some files on your device to store app-specific information called app cache.

The app may not work properly if the app cache is corrupted. The app cache of any app can become corrupted or damaged for a number of reasons – for example improper switching off of the smartphone by simply pulling out the battery. Whatever the reason, most app-specific issues can be fixed simply by clearing the app cache.

How to Clear Cache on Android Device?

Here’s how you can clear the cache of any app on Android:

1. Open the System settings screen on Android. You can do this in many ways – one of the most common is to tap the menu button (bottom left button) on your Android smartphone while on the home screen, and then select System Settings from the menu that appears.
2. The system settings screen shows a list of all the settings for your Android device, categorized into different sections. From this list, you need to tap on the Apps category.
3. This shows a list of all the apps installed on your Android device. You can choose the app whose cache you want to clear. In my case, I choose the Chorme browser app.
4. When the app information screen is displayed, you must first tap the  Force stop button to close the running instances of the app This is necessary for full app cache clearing. Then you must tap the  Clear data button .
5. A warning message is displayed explaining what will be removed. To continue just tap OK  button the app caches for the selected app can be cleared in a few seconds.

You can fix some app-specific issues on Android by simply clearing the app data associated with those apps. Once the app cache or app data is cleared, the app behaves as if it was just installed and you have some memory consumed by that app.
