Windows Monitoring and Alert Tool QuickMon

QuickMon is available from the github website. You can download one of four versions, but the latest version (as of September 2017) is version 5.0. The software cannot be used in portable mode, as it requires some services to be installed on your PC. Once installed, you can launch it and the first thing to do is create a new monitor package.

Each of the collectors can be configured to monitor any of the things supported by the use of the agents, for example checking the status of Windows services, checking the status of a file or folder, checking the value of a registry value and so on.  You can also test ping or SQL queries using the agent. The monitoring packages also include notifications of how the various collectors will be alerted to changing values or their status. These alerts or error messages can be sent to the SQL database, RSS feed or email address.

Although you can close the QuickMon window, it will continue to run in the background as a Windows service. You will continue to monitor various things (as you have configured) and you will continue to receive alerts using the notification settings.

Consequently;

QuickMon is a sophisticated tool used to monitor various things on your local PC, remote PC and networks. The status or data collected is then reported via notifications. It’s perfect for network administrators who want to periodically check the status of their Windows servers.
