How to take a screenshot on Samsung Galaxy S22 phone? Samsung has finally launched its first major flagship phones of the year with the Galaxy S22, S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. But one of the questions we get asked on a regular basis is how to take a screenshot on the Galaxy S22. Phone manufacturers tend to change the way you take screenshots from time to time. In this article we present you different ways to take a screenshot on the Galaxy S22 cell phone.
How to Screenshot Samsung Galaxy S22
How to take a Galaxy S22 screenshot using phone keys
The easiest and most intuitive way to take a screenshot on the Galaxy S22 is to use the phone keys. This has been the default method on almost every smartphone, including the iPhone. On the Galaxy S22, press and release the Volume Down and Power button at the same time. After the screenshot is taken, the screen flashes and then you can save or edit the screenshot.
Taking an S22 screenshot with palm swipe
Palm Swipe is one of the features that Samsung has been implementing on its Galaxy phones for years, including the Galaxy S22. However, this feature is not available on all phones, so you’ll want to make sure it’s available and enabled before you try to use it. Here’s how you can enable Palm Swipe on the Galaxy S22:
- Open Settings on your Galaxy S22 phone.
- Scroll down and tap   Advanced Features.
- Scroll down and tap   Gestures.
- Tap the toggle button next to the Palm to activate the feature.
Now that Palm Swipe is enabled, all you have to do is swipe your hand anywhere on the screen. If you have the settings right, when you swipe your hand over the screen, the screen will flash and a screenshot option will appear so you can edit it or just save it to your gallery.
Capture screenshot with scrolling
Sometimes, you may find that you need to screenshot more than you see on a page. In these cases, Samsung’s Scroll Capture function can come in handy, eliminating the need to scroll and take multiple screenshots. This is available on every Galaxy S22, and here’s how you can take a screenshot using Scroll Capture.
- Navigate to the screen you want to capture.
- Press the Power and Volume Down key at the same time.
- A drop-down menu will appear at the bottom of the page.
- Tap the Swipe Capture icon (a box with a down arrow inside )
- Tap the same icon again.
- Keep tapping the icon until you reach the bottom of the page.
- Tap outside the menu bar when you are done.
Capture screenshots with voice command
While many of you may be familiar with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, Samsung actually has a voice assistant of its own. Bixby can handle many different requests and is the default voice assistant on the latest and greatest Galaxy phones. One such request is that Bixby can take screenshots using just your voice, eliminating the need to try to get around pressing the right buttons or using different gestures.
Once Bixby is installed on your Galaxy S22, all you have to do is say ” Hey Bixby, take a screenshot “.
Smart Choice
Another feature found on many Galaxy phones over the years are the Edge Panels. These are shortcuts to different apps or utilities built into your phone, including the Galaxy S22. But to use the Edge Panels and Smart Select, you first need to make sure everything is enabled:
- Open the Settings app on your Galaxy S22.
- Tap Screen   .
- Scroll down and tap Edge Panels.
- Tap the toggle button next to Edge Panels to turn this feature on.
- Tap Panels   .
- Make sure Smart Select is enabled.
- Close the Settings app.
- Navigate to the page you want to screenshot.
- Open the Edge Panel by swiping it from the side of the screen.
- You should see a small box outline showing where the Edge Panels are located.
- Swipe again until you see the Smart Selection panel.
- Select one of the following:
- Rectangle
- Oval
Once you’ve made your selection, a rectangle or oval will be placed on the screen. Simply drag the corners or edges of the shape until it highlights the area you want to screenshot. Once everything is in place, tap the Finished button.
S Pen
This last option is obviously only for those who own the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Now that the S Pen is included in the box, it’s much more convenient than before to take screenshots, sign PDFs and use it to navigate your phone. With the S Pen, Samsung has brought Air Command features, a panel of utilities essentially designed for use with the S Pen. Here’s how you take screenshots on the Galaxy S22 Ultra with the S Pen:
- Remove the S Pen from its silo on your Galaxy S22 Ultra.
- Tap the Air Command icon.
- Select Smart choice.
After you select Write Screen, your phone will automatically capture whatever is currently on the screen. You can then use your S Pen to annotate the screenshot or tap the Save icon on the menu bar to save the screenshot.
