How to Hide Photos on Android Phone or Tablet
Most users have a large number of photos stored on their phone or tablet, some of these photos may be personal and you may not want others to see them.
But your family or friends may need to use your phone or ask you to show it to them. In these cases, you may start to worry about the possibility of your private photos being viewed.
Fortunately, there are several ways to hide photos on Android phones and tablets. In fact, both LG and Samsung phones have built-in tools that allow users to hide photos.
If you are using another Android phone, you can use the app available in the Google Play Store to hide photos on your Android phone or tablet.

How to Hide Photos on Android Phone or Tablet with AppLock
Follow the steps below to hide photos on your Android phone or tablet using the AppLock app available in the Google Play Store.
1. Download the AppLock app from the Google Play Store.
1.1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet and search for or download AppLock.
1.2. Click on DoMobile Lab’s AppLock as it appears in the search results and download the app to your device.
2. Install AppLock on your Android phone
After downloading the app, you need to set AppLock on your Android phone to hide photos.
2.1. After downloading the app, open the AppLock app on your Android phone or tablet.
2.2. You will be asked to type a “password”. Create a pattern password by swiping on the screen.
2.3. You will be asked to redraw the pattern password to confirm it.
2.4. On the next screen you will be asked to provide a secure email. Enter an email address or you can skip to the next step.
3. Protect your photos with the AppLock app
Now that you have installed AppLock on your device, you can protect the Photos app with a password by following the steps below.
3.1. Setting the AppLock will take you to the app’s home screen.
3.2. Tap the Privacy tab on the app’s main screen.
3.3. Then scroll down and tap the lock icon next to the photo.
3.4. In the pop-up window, tap Allow to allow AppLock to access your data.
3.5. On the next screen, turn the switch next to AppLock to ON to give AppLock access to your data.
3.6. Once you have provided AppLock to access your data, return to the AppLock app and tap the lock icon next to the Photos app again to password protect all your photos in the Android app.
Note: If you have another photo app like Gallery, you can also password protect it by tapping the lock icon next to the app name.
From now on, you will not be able to access the Photos app on your Android phone or tablet without entering your AppLock password.
How to Hide Photos on Android Phone or Tablet with Vaulty
Instead of password protecting all the photos on your Android phone, you can protect only your personal photos in an app called Vaulty.
The advantage of this method is that you can show most of the photos on your Android phone or tablet to anyone who wants to see them, while protecting only your private photos in the Vaulty App.
1. Download Vault App from Google Play Store
1.1. Open the Google Play Store and search for or download Vaulty.
1.2. Download the app on your Android phone or tablet.
2. Install Vaulty on your Android phone
2.1. Open the Vaulty app on your Android phone or tablet.
2.2. Tap Accept to accept the terms and conditions for using the Vaulty app on your device.
2.3. Then enter your email to automatically back up your photos (optional) or you can tap Backup to skip this step.
2.4. On the next screen you can choose between Pin Password or Text Password.
2.5. After creating a password you will be redirected to the main screen of the app. Click the Hide Photos and Videos button.
2.6. On the next screen, tap the folder with your personal photos.
2.7. Tapping a folder will open all photos in that folder. Tap the photo you want to hide on your Android phone, then tap the lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Note: All selected photos will be automatically deleted from the Photos app and placed in the Vaulty app.
Now all your personal photos are protected in Vaulty and you can continue to add more personal photos to Vaulty.

Hide photos on Samsung phone using private mode
As mentioned above, Samsung Phones have a built-in option to hide photos using a feature called Private Mode.
1. Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone.
2. On the Settings screen, tap Privacy and Security.
3. On the Privacy & Security screen, turn the switch to ON to activate privacy mode.
After activating private mode, you need to set a password for private mode. All photos in your personal folder will disappear.
4. Open the Gallery app on your Samsung Phone
5. Then, hold down the button until the photo is selected. In the same way, select all the other photos you want to hide.
6. Once you have selected all the photos you want to hide, tap More Options in the top right corner of the screen and then tap Go Private from the drop-down menu.

Like Samsung phones, LG phones have their own built-in feature to hide photos.
1. Open the Settings app on your LG phone or tablet.
2. On the Settings screen, tap Security.
3. On the Security screen, tap Content Lock
4. On the next screen, choose to create a password or pattern lock.
5. On the next screen, create and confirm your password.
6. If you created a pattern lock password, you must also create a recovery password. Create a recovery pin and click Next to continue.
7. Next, you need to select your Google account if you need to reset your password.
8. Now open the Gallery app on your LG phone and select the photos you want to hide.
