This free VPN feature is available for Opera browser version 51 and higher. If you have Opera web browser installed on your Android smartphone, you will not need the use of external VPN. Opera developers have also made it quite easy to use – all you need to do is tap on the address bar to turn on or disable the Opera free VPN feature.
Android Free VPN Opera VPN Usage
Here’s how to enable the new VPN feature in the Opera web browser:
- First install Opera browser version 51 or higher. If Opera is installed on your device, update to the latest version.
- Launch Opera, tap the small Opera icon in the bottom right corner to open the browser menu.
- In the menu that appears, tap Settings.
- You can turn on the VPN feature by pressing the on-off button next to the VPN.
- If you want to configure VPN settings, tap VPN on the settings screen. You can select the VPN for all tabs or only for a specific tab. You can set a virtual location from Optimal, America, Asia or Europe. You can choose to bypass VPN for popular search engines.
- Depending on the settings you have selected, you will see the VPN icon appear in the address bar of the tabs. You can tap the VPN icon to see concise information about the VPN (how much data you use over the VPN and the option to change the VPN configuration.
While this new Opera feature’s built-in VPN makes it unnecessary to install another VPN app when browsing Android, Opera does not allow you to use Data Saver when you enable the VPN. If you enable the data saver feature, it automatically disables Opera’s built-in VPN.
